Program Overview
The Language and Literacy Development minor prepares teacher candidates to create classroom environments in which students build and refine their abilities to read, write, listen and speak effectively. In addition to studying factors that affect language development, you will experiment with various assessment and instructional strategies for language and literacy development. You will complete observation and practicum experiences in area schools. All courses meet the accreditation standards of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and the International Reading Association.
