The Master of Science (M.S.) in Sport and Recreation Business program is designed to advance your growth and leadership skills in this ever-evolving industry. Through innovative course work, you will gain critical skills to understand and contribute to business operations of organizations at the professional, collegiate or non-profit level. Through this two-year program, you will gain strong insights on the field and learn valuable skills that will aid you in professional development and advancement, all while maintaining a balance between your studies and life.
An undergraduate degree in sport management or business is not required for admission, and students from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Three Letters of Recommendation
Three letters of recommendation from one personal, one professional, and one academic reference. These letters need to be submitted directly from each letter writer and contain the contact information of each writer (name, address, email, and phone) as well as a verifiable signature. Unsigned letters will not be accepted. Each should address your background relevant to your pursuit of the M.S. in Sport Management degree.
Resume and Professional Goals Statement
A professional goals statement (maximum of four pages, double-spaced) identifying the student’s qualifications and reasons for pursuing this degree. The professional goals statement must clearly illustrate excellent written communications skills and reflect the effort and analysis associated with a graduate degree. If an applicant’s cumulative grade point average is below a 2.75, the student must also address the reasons that led to this GPA, and provide evidence that he or she can maintain the program’s required minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
After all documents (application, transcripts, letters of recommendation, resume and professional goals statement) have been received and reviewed, an interview with the department chair will be scheduled.
