The estimated total number of students at Cardinal Stritch University who are eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act is 1,130.
Cardinal Stritch University used the following method to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act: An application was created and made available to students to fill out. A committee reviewed the applications and ensured the funds were allocated for expenses associated with the disruption to campus due to COVID-19. Preference has been given to students with extreme need. The committee has determined this by Pell eligibility and/or EFC, and in some cases description of extreme situations. In addition, Stritch recognized that our Pell eligible students are extremely needy and were adversely impacted by the disruption to campus due to COVID 19. Stritch decided to give all Pell eligible students enrolled in the Spring of 2020 $1,000 in an Emergency Financial Aid Grant. We also recognized that students that were living on campus during Spring of 2020, but that were from out of state, were greatly impacted by having to leave the residence halls. All students in this category, but out of Pell range, also received $1,000 in an Emergency Financial Aid Grant.
