Bio

Kathleen Hohl joined the Stritch Advancement department in June 2017. She is responsible for media relations, internal and external communications efforts, and advancement strategies that enhance the visibility of Stritch among a wide variety of constituents. She has helped grow Stritch's presence on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram. Kathleen contributes to the University's emergency response plan, with a particular focus on crisis communications. She has been instrumental in bringing U.S. Naturalization Ceremonies to Stritch and coordinated a campus visit from Judy and Dennis Shepard (pictured at right), to talk about their son, the late Matthew Shepard. 

She previously served at Milwaukee Area Technical College, the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and Marquette University, where she developed communications plans that supported organizational initiatives, identified and communicated stories that resonated with various audiences and adapted to technological advancements that impacted message delivery to a variety of stakeholders. Throughout her career she has coordinated local, regional and national media coverage on an array of people, academic programs and initiatives. She led efforts that resulted in multiple Medallion and Paragon awards from the National Council of Marketing and Public Relations. 

Kathleen earned a bachelor's degree in business and organizational communications from the University of Akron and a master's degree in physical education with a specialization in sport administration from Kent State University. While at Akron, she earned four letters for the Zips' softball team and was the program's first NCAA Division I Academic All-America First Team honoree. She is a member of the St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, University of Akron Varsity A, Summit County and Summit County Softball halls of fame. The Akron, Ohio, native has been active in St. Sebastian Parish and School and Franklin Little League. She resides in Franklin.
