Stritch Performing Arts presents a provocative, historic outdoor version of the classic Greek Tragedy in response to the pandemic.

Adapted and Directed by Mark Boergers
Stritch Performing Arts imagines the classic Greek Tragedy years into losing battle with a modern pandemic. Oedipus MMXX is a unique and innovative live performance event presented Promenade Style, outdoors in the Heritage Park area of the main campus of Cardinal Stritch University. The performance will include live improvised music and an immersive experience in a unique location. Audiences will be able to walk around the approximately 6000 square feet grounds of the playing space and maintain their own social distance from performers as they enjoy the show and move in order to see the scenes which take place in various locations around the park. The performance will last approximately one hour.

Audiences will be severely limited in order to allow for proper social distancing. A limited number of tickets is available on a first come/first served basis.  Should a performance be cancelled for any reason, a full refund of your ticket price will be provided minus eventbrite fees which are non-refundable. Priority will be given to audience members for subsequent performances, however there will not be a guarantee of a replacement ticket. Sunday, May 9th at 2pm  will be a rain performance open to ONLY members of a previous date who purchased tickets to a show that was cancelled due to safety and weather.

Audience members must wear face coverings at all times during the performance and maintain social distance standards from fellow audience members and actors at all times. Bathroom facilities will not be available during the performance in order to maintain the safety of students in the interior areas of Cardinal Stritch University. Although there will be some areas to sit at various points in the playing space, most of the audience will stand throughout the one-hour performance. Because of the small number of tickets and the need for social distancing, it is not encouraged for young children to attend.  If you are uncomfortable with any of these restrictions, we encourage you to stay tuned for our planned recorded version of the production to be made available in early May.

Attendees will be given more specific information about how to attend the show in the days leading up to the performance. Performances will continue through light weather interruptions (including rain) but will be suspended in safety. Updates on performances will be emailed directly to attendees, please be sure to provide an email address for preferred communication.
