The Alumni Association welcomed back members of the Class of 1964 and the Class of 1989 to campus for the 2014 Reunion Weekend, held June 20-22.

Our Jubilarians (alumni graduating 50 or more years ago) gathered to reunite with old friends and faculty members and to see the sights of today’s Stritch. The University officially inducted the Class of 1964 into the Jubilarian Society during a special ceremony at the Alumni Awards celebration, held on Saturday evening. The Jubilarian Society now consists of more than 500 Stritch graduates who have reached this special milestone.

Highlights of this year’s Jubilarian reunion included: time touring the University Archives with a special Class of 1964 presentation by University Archivist Sister Margaret Ruddy, OSF; a tour of familiar and new sites on the Stritch campus; and a special “Off-the-Record” lunch held in Serra Dinning Hall. With more than 25 members of the class partaking in weekend festivities, this was one of the largest classes ever to attend a Jubilarian reunion.

This year, the Alumni Association reintroduced the 25-year reunion into its alumni programming. Members of the Class of 1989 and friends from surrounding class years gathered to celebrate the 25-year milestone of their Stritch graduation. Highlights of the reunion included an ’80s T.G.I.T. party in the Student Union, complete with music, food and trivia all reminiscent of that time period, and a picnic lunch in Heritage Park with Stritch staff and faculty.

Reunion Weekend for both groups concluded with a Mass held in the St. Francis of Assisi Chapel and a special brunch hosted by University President Dr. James Loftus and First Lady Irene Prior Loftus on Sunday.
