September 22, 2020
Long-time Stritch Visual Arts professor Tim Abler earned the Jan Hader Award in the prestigious Wisconsin Photography 2020 competition for his Embrace, Oaxaca, Mexico, 2019 digital inkjet print. The jurored show features 83 images from 29 Wisconsin photographers. The exhibition opened September 2 and runs through Saturday, November 28, at the Racine Art Museum's Wustum Museum of Fine Arts.
Abler, who has taught at Stritch since 1981, is one of five photographers whose work was purchased for the museum's permanent collection, which features "one of the largest studio art programs of any museum in Wisconsin." Wisconsin Photography is a biennial exhibition that dates back to 1979.
