Stritch hosted three in-person Commencement ceremonies May 16
Cardinal Stritch University hosted three in-person Commencement ceremonies celebrating more than 350 members of the Classes of 2020 and 2021 at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena in downtown Milwaukee May 16.
Stritch Interim President Dr. Daniel J. Scholz conferred the degrees on the graduates. Thelma A. Sias (pictured), a member of the University's Board of Trustees, Sias Group founder and CEO, and former We Energies Vice President for Local Affairs, delivered the keynote address at all three ceremonies.
Sherrie Tussler, executive director of the Hunger Task Force, received an honorary doctorate degree at the College of Undergraduate Studies ceremony. Anne Reed, president and CEO of the Wisconsin Humane Society, received an honorary doctorate degree at the College of Graduate Studies ceremony. Tussler and Reed were recognized for their contributions to society and exemplary efforts to build community through their work, which exemplifies the Franciscan values around which Stritch is centered.
“We are excited and grateful that the Stritch family was able to gather in person to celebrate the academic achievement of our graduates,” said Scholz. “Students from the Classes of 2020 and 2021 deserved a memorable occasion to recognize the culmination of their hard work.”
