District Administrator Licensure

The District Administrator Licensure program is a 21-credit program that leads to certification for the Superintendency license in the state of Wisconsin. This 21-credit program can be completed in 14 months and is delivered in an accelerated, cohort model format.

Students must posses a master's degree from an accredited school, have three years of administrative experience in K-12 schools, as well as hold a current administrative license (Director of Instruction, Principal, Business Manager, or Director of Pupil Services). Courses in this program can transfer directly into the doctoral programs at Cardinal Stritch University. Candidates must, however, apply separately to the Doctorate in Leadership for the Advancement of Learning and Service or the Doctorate in Leadership for the Advancement of Learning and Service in Higher Education.

  1. The administrator has an understanding of and demonstrates competence in the Ten Teacher Standards.

The provider supports continuous improvement that is sustained and evidence-based, and that evaluates the effectiveness of its completers. The provider uses the results of inquiry and data collection to establish priorities, enhance program elements and capacity, and test innovations to improve completers’ impact on P-12 student learning and development.

Academic and Professional Requirements

Prior Education

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in the field of education.
  • A grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in master’s-level course work.

Professional Requirements

  • Three years of administrative experience in K-12 schools.
  • A current administrative license in one of the following:
    • Director of Instruction
    • Principal
    • Business Manager
    • Director of Pupil Services

  • Submit the admissions application which is free to complete online. Applications for this program are reviewed on a rolling basis so allow sufficient time before the start of your program for consideration.

Request Transcripts
  • Have official transcripts from each college or university you attended delivered directly to the Office of Admissions. Cardinal Stritch University alumni and current students should inquire with the admission counselor about locating transcripts already on file.
  • Transcripts from institutions outside of the United States require a course-by-course evaluation with GPA. Request the official report from ECE or WES to be sent directly to the Office of Admissions. Allow time for the evaluation to be completed since it could take up to 4-6 weeks to be created.
