Biomedical Sales Major

Biomedical sales involves a high level of education with a science background. Jobs in this area involves communicating in a clinical based environment. As a biomedical sales major, you will be prepared in human biology - specifically microbiology, anatomy and physiology and developmental biology while also training in corporate communication, and understanding how the human machine works through courses that are focused on the structure and function of the human body.

You will learn how the human machine works through the study of anatomy, physiology and microbes while learning the tools needed to communicate at the corporate level. You will explore strategies and tactics for written and face-to-face communications, public speaking and working in teams. In addition, you will pursue a deeper understanding of persuasive communication strategies and techniques.

Concentration Overview

Liberal Arts Core

The Liberal Arts Core Curriculum is rooted in the Liberal Arts and our Franciscan heritage. It is designed to create a framework to develop knowledge, skills, and responsibilities necessary to educate students so that they will be prepared to contribute to the world guided by a concern for issues of justice and ethical behavior.

CORE LITERACIES:  15 credits – Choose one (1) course from each broad theme. Course options can be found in the course catalog or on the academic advising page. Broad themes are:

Professional Core

Culminating Experience

Giving students a culminating experience as well as practical work experience, the Professional Core is a graduation requirement for every Stritch student in a bachelor’s degree program. This bachelor’s degree program includes completion of the Professional Core consisting of three courses:
  • Pre-Internship
  • Internship
  • Capstone

  • BA Biomedical Sales students must earn a C or better in all major courses listed with the concentrations, including CA 252: Persuasive Communication
  • BA Biomedical Sales degree includes the two concentrations mentioned above (31 cr.), the University Core (31 cr.), the University Professional Core (7 cr.), an additional concentration, and sufficient elective credits to total 120 credits for degree completion.
