Scientific Writing Major

The written word is a powerful tool. To communicate effectively in science, one needs not only the ability to write, but also a clear understanding of the subject material. This major is designed to provide the experience and hands-on expertise to enter the field.

Program Overview

The scientific writing major prepares you to write about the worlds of science and technology for both broad and professional audiences. In a three-subject exposure to the allied fields of science, writing and communication, you will work to develop mastery in the craft and rhetoric of scientific writing and science journalism in order to convey a deeper understanding of science, medicine, technology, health, and nature.
