In order to obtain the F-1 student visa needed to study in the USA, international students are required to show proof that they have sufficient financial resources to support themselves during their studies. It has been determined that interna-tional applicants must include with this application a bank statement indicating that they (or their family members) have the equivalent of $6,803 US Dollars available for one semester, or $13,606 US Dollars for two semesters. These figures are derived from estimations of housing, food, books, transport and miscellaneous expenses).
