Alumni Awards

The Cardinal Stritch University Alumni Association has presented awards to honor alumni and friends of the University since 1987. Through our annual Alumni Awards celebration, we honor our most notable alumni for their professional and personal achievements which have made a significant impact in their field, and whose life and character have earned the respect and admiration of their peers and professional colleagues. The awards program also acknowledges the volunteer/civic contributions made to the community by our alumni. The awards program seeks to recognize individuals who, through their leadership and vision, exemplify the Franciscan values and the mission of the University.

Distinguished Alumni Award for Professional Achievement

This award acknowledges the accomplishments in the candidate's professional career and is intended to recognize both accomplishments in leadership and in the field, which have earned respect and admiration of their professional colleagues and brings honor to Cardinal Stritch University.

Award Criteria:
  • Candidate has achieved an exceptional level of prominence in his / her field that brings credit to him / her and the University (to be evaluated through career accomplishments)
  • Demonstrated leadership in his/her pursuit of success
  • The candidate has been proactive in becoming involved in alumni activities
  • Candidate will be evaluated on the impact of contributions (professional / community) in relation to the years since graduation
Other:
  • Candidate must be able to accept the alumni award in person
  • Candidate must be a graduate of Stritch
 

Graduate of the Last Decade Alumni Award

This award recognizes alumni who received their degree from Cardinal Stritch University within the last 10 years. Candidates will demonstrate outstanding achievements in both their professional background and in their volunteer / civic involvement.

Award Criteria:
  • Candidate has received a degree within the past 10 years from Stritch
  • Candidate has achieved an exceptional level of prominence in his/her field that brings credit to him / her and the University
  • The service has been sustained over an extended period of time (or if short term, the service been extraordinarily original or highly valuable)
  • The candidate has been proactive in becoming involved in alumni activities
  • Candidate will be evaluated on the impact of contributions (professional / community) in relation to the years since graduation
Other:
  • Candidate must be able to accept the alumni award in person
  • Candidate must be a graduate of Stritch and must have earned a degree from the University no more than 10 years prior to date of nomination
 

Spirit of St. Francis Service Award: Alumni Service

This award acknowledges and encourages service to the University and the community. The candidate will demonstrate outstanding achievements / long-term commitment in supporting their local community through volunteer / civic involvement and service to Cardinal Stritch University through volunteer activities.

Award Criteria:
  • Demonstrates ideals that exemplify tradition of service at Stritch, mission and community involvement
  • Lives a life reflective of the Franciscan spirit and Christian ideals taught by Stritch
  • Makes significant humanitarian contributions to the community / University
  • Shows leadership in civic / religious affairs and/or to the University
  • Furthers the welfare of culturally and ethnically diverse groups in his / her community
Other:
  • Candidate must be able to accept the alumni award in person
  • Candidate must be a graduate of Stritch
 

Spirit of St. Francis Service Award: University Supporter

This award acknowledges and encourages service to the University. The non-graduate candidate will demonstrate outstanding achievements / long-term commitment in supporting Cardinal Stritch University with great distinction and service.

Award Criteria:
  • Demonstrates ideals that exemplify tradition of service at Stritch, mission and community involvement
  • Lives a life reflective of the Franciscan spirit and Christian ideals taught by Stritch
  • Makes significant contributions to the University
  • Shows leadership in his / her service to Stritch
Other:
  • Candidate must be able to accept the alumni award in person
  • Candidate is a non-graduate of Stritch
  • Candidate must have served Stritch in a leadership capacity: (ex. Board of Trustees, Advisory Boards, etc.)
 

The Mother Bartholomew, OSF Lifetime Achievement Award

In honor of the legacy of Mother Bartholomew, this award acknowledges alumni who have completed at least 25 years of their professional career or retired from their lifelong profession. They have achieved exceptional success in their profession and have contributed significantly to the advancement and leadership of noteworthy civic, philanthropic, or service organizations for many years. Their lifelong achievement has brought them significant professional and volunteer recognition and has set a standard of excellence to which others may aspire.

Award Criteria:
  • Candidate has received a degree from Cardinal Stritch University
  • Candidate has achieved an exceptional level of prominence in his/her field
  • Demonstrated community service over the span of his / her lifetime
  • Candidate has been actively involved in alumni activity during his/her lifetime and supports the University's mission
Other:
  • Candidate must be able to accept the alumni award in person
  • Candidate must be a graduate of Stritch

Now accepting 2019 Alumni Awards and Athletic Hall of Fame Nominations!

The Alumni Board of Directors and Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Stritch are now accepting nominations for the 2019 awards program. The Athletic Hall of Fame induction will be held in conjunction with the Alumni Awards celebration on June 7, 2019. The Alumni Board will meet in March 2019 to select alumni award honorees. The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will review nominees for the Athletic Hall of Fame. Contact Michelle Goulais, '10, manager of alumni engagement, with any questions related to the awards program at mlgoulais1@stritch.edu
