MT 195 Overview

This course provides an overview of the fundamental concepts of algebra. Topics include linear and quadratic equations and inequalities; the Cartesian plane and graphing; functions; graphs and models; polynomial and rational functions; exponential and logarithmic functions; and systems of equations and inequalities. NOTE: Students should not take both MT 195 and MT 196. Students majoring in mathematics, computer science, or the natural sciences need MT 210 and should take MT 196 if they are not ready for MT 210. Students majoring in elementary/middle-level education who are taking a mathematics minor for education need MT 196. Prerequisite: Placement results or MT 107 (previously MT 115).
