NUR 224 Overview
This course focuses on common health needs and chronic illnesses experienced by the adult and geriatric patient. A person-centered approach will be used to provide holistic care through application of evidence-based nursing interventions. Mental health needs of older adults will be emphasized. Communication, information management, safety, quality care, evidence-based practice, and professionalism will be addressed. Health promotion and disease prevention strategies will be applied in chronic care and rehabilitation settings. Prerequisite: NUR 210 and NUR 222. Corequisite: CA 108, EN 102 and PL 102.
