NURT 224 Overview

This course focuses on common health needs and chronic illnesses experienced by the adult and geriatric patient. A person-centered approach will be used to provide holistic care through discussion of evidence-based nursing interventions. Mental health needs of older adults will be emphasized. Communication, information management, safety, quality care, evidence-based practice, and professionalism will be addressed. Health promotion and disease prevention strategies will be examined. Prerequisite: NUR 210, NUR 222. Corequisite: CA 108, EN 102, NURL 224, PL 102.
