THR 304 Overview

Have you ever wondered why the Greeks wore togas? Or why men wear pants? Every culture and period in history has unique qualities that set them apart. Two of these are fashion and living space. This course examines the cultural and historical significance of architecture, decor, fashion, customs and style and how they can be artistically brought to life on the theatrical stage. Starting with the Ancient Egyptians, this course examines some of the major cultures from a historical point of view and reveals the influence of how we lived in the past on how we live and interact today. This course may be used toward an advanced core certificate. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing or department consent.
