Biography
Carl Mueller joined the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science in August 2008, and taught in the department for several years – including a stint as chair. He has served in the Deans Office of the College of Arts and Sciences since Fall 2013, and has been the Associate Dean of the College since Fall 2015. He is excited about the opportunities that the new College of Undergraduate Studies will bring.
In his role as Associate Dean, Carl helps the Dean with the day-to-day operations of the College and has played a role in curriculum development, assessment, the Honors Program, and more. He supports faculty and staff in the College and works closely with academic advisors and the leadership of the other colleges to coordinate course offerings, to craft sensible policies and procedures, and to help ensure that what we do and how we do it is in the best interests of our students and the mission of the University.

Why Stritch?
"I have never been a part of an educational community that was as dedicated to the success of students as Stritch. There is something special here. The four Franciscan Values that appear in our mission statement are not mere words on paper; they are deeply ingrained in each of us and truly frame how we live and work. We work closely together – across departments and areas of the university – to provide the best-possible environment for the education and welfare of our students. Every day brings new challenges, and every day I look forward to tackling those challenges with a remarkable group of dedicated colleagues. "
