Meudt, K.E. (2017) Serving the Underserved: The Impact of a Learning Community on Historically Underrepresented Populations in Higher Education. In S. Whalen (ed.), Proceedings of the National Symposium on Student Retention, Norfolk, Virginia. Norman, OK:
"Why Stritch? Because there is no better place for a student to go on their educational journey. The faculty, staff, and administrators care deeply about the students and the student experience. The values we espouse are lived daily in how we support our students and each other. They are not just nice things someone thought we should all talk about. Those values are who we are and frame how we want each of our graduates to impact the communities they are a part of. From Freshmen Orientation, to passion fueled courses, to internship opportunities, and ultimately graduation, our students are given the time and support they need to be successful. Most importantly, they are encouraged to step out into the world knowing that they possess a toolbox of skills and literacies to address whatever life has in store for them. Why Stritch? Because there is no other place like it."
