Biography

Dr. Kate Meudt is a lifelong educator who is grateful for the chance to use her role to support faculty and student success.

She was named to the Vice President of Academic Affairs position in December 2021 and assumed responsibilities in January 2022. She joined the Stritch community in 2008 as an assistant professor and has served as the dean of the College of Undergraduate Studies (previously the College of Arts and Sciences) since 2018. As dean, she was responsible for a number of leadership, fiscal, administrative and human resources responsibilities for the College. She also served as the director of student support, which included oversight of Academic Support and Student Accessibility Services, from 2013-2017. Kate helped develop and implement the University’s Concurrent Enrollment Program, which has resulted in new partnerships with area high schools.

She also has been active in a number of campus-wide initiatives and programs, including Service Day committee, Kendall Lecture Series committee, Higher Learning Commission accreditation, the annual Honors Scholarship competition and the Hispanic Student Success committee.

A Milwaukee native, Kate earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership in Higher Education from Stritch in 2017 and has focused her research on retention strategies and serving historically marginalized populations. She holds a master’s degree in education from Mount Mary University (2006) and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and sociology from the University of Wisconsin (1998).

Kate and her husband, Jim, live in Franklin with their children Ella and Keenan.
