Rita Flores Wiskowski has been a fundraising professional since 1993. She joined the office for University Advancement in December 2015. Her role is to generate financial support from corporate, foundation, and government partners to advance University initiatives and the programs that promote student success. This includes researching prospective funding opportunities, writing and coordinating grant application submissions, and managing grant awards. She works with community leaders and philanthropists, as well as Stritch faculty and staff to foster meaningful engagements to accomplish these goals.
"I have the opportunity to witness students’ transformations during their years at Stritch to the confident leaders and thinkers ready to do amazing things after graduation and this energizes me. I appreciate the foundational values of the University that have never wavered, and I appreciate the University’s ability to ready students for the 21st century workforce. I am first generation, so I especially love to see so many first-generation students make themselves and their families proud through their accomplishments. I work at conveying the importance of Stritch and the unique qualities of its students to donors and community partners. I want them to see what I see so they will enthusiastically become partners in these transformations. I also have some of the best co-workers who appreciate Stritch and its students as much as I do and this makes my job rewarding and enjoyable."
