On Thursday, April 30, 2020, in the early stages of the COVID pandemic, Cardinal Stritch University held its first Day of Caring.

Gifts received that day went to support Stritch's Pay It Forward Fund that provides emergency assistance to Stritch students. The fund helped students who were experiencing unexpected financial obstacles, including:

• Lost income
• Changes in housing
• Health concerns
• Transitions to remote learning
• Unanticipated family situations
