2021 Stritch Service Day

On October 8, 2021, more than 300 Stritch students, faculty and staff visited over two dozen community sites to perform various types of service that will have a meaningful and lasting impact.
Service Day is one of the very best ways the Stritch family lives out the Franciscan values, especially “creating a caring community,” which we are focused on this year. Stritch President Dr. Dan Scholz visited several sites to see all of the great work that was happening and thank the students, faculty and staff for their work.
Ana Castaneda, ’14, elderly programs manager at United Community Center and our contact there, shared this wonderful feedback: “I just wanted to reach out to thank you and all volunteers who came over this morning and helped us with our Fall decorations, as well as setting up for our Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. It was an amazing group, and we are very thankful for their time. Like I said, being a Stritch alum, it makes me so proud to have students come and make my seniors happy with their company.”
President Dr. Dan Scholz provided an overview of the impact of the annual Stritch Service Day during his visit to Feeding America.
