Health Center

On-campus quality care

Your health is of utmost importance. All traditional and non-traditional students currently enrolled at Stritch are eligible to use Student Health Services for quality, on-campus care.

Cost: All services are low cost or no cost to current students. Most of the services provided by the Student Health Services are included in your student fees assessed with tuition. 

Emergencies

For any life–threatening situation, call 911; then, if possible, contact Security at (414) 410-4220.

Residence Life staff and Campus Security officers will assist in emergency situations for residents when the Student Health Center is closed.

  • Assessment, diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury (within scope of practice) 
  • Blood Pressure screening
  • Basic Lab tests
  • Basic wound care
  • Immunizations
  • Prescription and over-the-counter medication • Flu Vaccine
  • Injury and Surgical follow-up care
  • Athletic Physicals
  • Suture removal
  • TB skin test and TB blood test
  • Referral to community specialists
  • Nebulizer treatments
  • Cooperation with students’ primary care provider

All full-time undergraduate students must complete the health form and submit it electronically to Health Services through MyStritch.

Health Policies

The information provided is confidential and will be retained by Student Health Services as part of the student’s medical record.

Residence Hall Requirements

All new students living in the Residence Halls are required to:

  • Complete an Immunization and Health History Form prior to the beginning of their first semester
  • Complete the Meningococcal Meningitis and Hepatitis B Vaccine Requirement form

Immunization requirements for students in Residence Halls:

  • Tetanus-Diphtheria vaccine within the past 10 years.
  • Completion of the Polio series.
  • Evidence of the Varicella Vaccine or the chickenpox virus. Immune titers are also acceptable.
  • Two doses of MMR (The first dose of MMR, measles, mumps, or rubella must have been given after the 1st birthday. The two doses MMR or two same components must be given at least 28 days apart.). Immune titers are also acceptable.
  • Complete the Tuberculosis screening questionnaire. TB testing is required for students considered to be in high-risk groups. Please refer to the health history form for a listing of who are considered high risk.
  • Submit all documentation of the required immunizations must be received prior to moving into the residence hall.

Nursing Students

All nursing students must have a physical examination by a licensed provider.

Student Athletes

All students participating in intercollegiate sports must have a physical examination by a licensed provider.

International Programs

All students participating in international programs/study abroad experiences must have a physical examination by a licensed provider. 

Confidentiality

All clients will be served in a confidential and nonjudgmental environment with a caring and respectful attitude. All medical records and client visits are confidential. No one may be allowed access to patient records without written permission of the individual. Confidentiality is broken only in cases where a client is likely to harm himself/herself, someone else, or jeopardize the welfare of the University.
